For more than three decades, InBIA’s International Conference on Business Incubation (ICBI) has been bringing together the people who champion entrepreneurship around the globe to form connections, share ideas, gather resources, and reinvigorate professional perspectives. As the industry has grown and changed, so has the association, with an initial membership of mostly business incubator mangers in 1985, to a current membership representing incubators, accelerators, co-working spaces, super hubs, university entrepreneurship centers, economic development centers and more. The annual conference, ICBI, continues to be the connecting point for people helping entrepreneurs succeed all over the world, and we are looking forward to our 34th gathering next year in Boston, Massachusetts!

Jeffrey A. Robinson, Ph.D.
Jeffrey A. Robinson, Ph.D. is an award winning business school professor, international speaker and entrepreneur. Since 2008, he has been a leading faculty member at Rutgers Business School where he is an associate professor of management and entrepreneurship and the Academic Director of The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development. Dr. Robinson is a passionate advocate for social entrepreneurship, inclusive innovation and economic development. He is the author of books and articles on such topics as social entrepreneurship, African American women in entrepreneurship, and inclusive innovation. Emerging from his pioneering research, the New Jersey Social Entrepreneurship Institute and the CUEED Pipeline to Inclusive Innovation are national and international models for economic development and social problem solving using entrepreneurial approaches. He is the Principal Investigator of two National Science Foundation funded research projects related to inclusive innovation. He is an editorial board member for Academy of Management Perspectives and the Social Entrepreneurship Journal. He has been the keynote speaker at international events and conferences and has taught or presented his work on six continents. Dr. Robinson educational studies span the areas of engineering, urban studies and entrepreneurship. His Ph.D. is in the area of Management & Entrepreneurship from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
Gail spent 17 years as CEO of Constant Contact, the trusted provider of online marketing tools for small businesses and nonprofits. Gail led the company from pre-revenue to a successful IPO (NASDAQ: CTCT) in 2007 and through its acquisition by Endurance in 2016 for $1.1b. At the time of the acquisition, more than 650,000 small businesses and nonprofits used Constant Contact’s online marketing tools to engage their customers and grow their businesses and company revenues topped $370 million.
Gail is a true believer in the power of entrepreneurship to transform lives and communities. She helps underserved entrepreneurs turn their dreams into reality working with EforAll as both a mentor and Board Chair. In 2019, Gail Goodman joined Pepperlane, a marketplace and community enabling a new form of entrepreneurship for moms. She is guiding the vision and product roadmap. Her extensive experience working with small businesses makes her uniquely qualified to help Pepperlane’s mom entrepreneurs succeed.
Author of Engagement Marketing: How Small Business Succeeds in a Socially Connected World, Gail is a frequent speaker at national technology and entrepreneurial events. Her 2013 TEDx talk, “Founders Can’t Scale,” offers a glimpse into her management philosophy and personal drive, especially as it relates to scaling a startup into a large, public company.
Fostering entrepreneurship is Gail’s passion and mission and she is dedicating the next chapter of her professional career to scaling organizations and programs focused on small business success. Gail serves on the Boards of Pepperlane, Shopify (NYSE: SHOP), Entrepreneurship for All, Mass Challenge and Lola Travel.
Michelle Royal is the founder and Chief Innovation Officer of RIDG (Royal Innovation Design Group). She is a self-made speaker, consultant, and entrepreneur, who was raised in the growing Subway franchise empire.
Michelle has over 20 years of experience and has
worked with almost 100,000 leaders and more than 60 communities to clarify and drive economic growth while mobilizing positive change. Her mission is to co-create a world of One Billion Innovators by inspiring contagious worth and value.
Michelle holds a Masters of Business Innovation (MBI) from the Deusto Business School in Bilbao, Spain, a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and served as the first ever Innovation Coach to the European Union.
Joseph Jaffe is a multiple author, serial entrepreneur and one of the most sought-after consultants, speakers and thought leaders on marketing, innovation and change. Joseph is Admiral at the HMS Beagle (www.thehmsbeagle.com), a strategic consultancy that helps its clients navigate the journey from survival to thrival AKA growth. HMSB is Jaffe’s third startup venture, after Evol8tion (pronounced Evolution) and crayon. He was worked with the likes of Pearson, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Purina, Steelcase, Colgate-Palmolive, Mondelez International, Keurig Doctor Pepper and many more.
Jaffe has written 5 books including Life After The 30-Second Spot, Join the Conversation, Flip the Funnel and Z.E.R.O.
