Empowering entrepreneurial ecosystem leaders to revitalize local economies

InBIA’s third Ecosystem Builders (e.Builders) Forum will convene seasoned practitioners and local ecosystem leaders to share tools, resources, and success stories in strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems by building industry clusters, encouraging diversity, supporting second stage companies and leveraging the fundamentals of ecosystem building. With expert insights and meaningful peer connections, this event equips ecosystem builders to design, launch and sustain compelling and impactful initiatives for their communities.

e.Builders Forum Overview

Day One:

During half-day workshops, seasoned experts will share knowledge, resources, and practical tools participants can immediately implement. Topics include:

  • Ensuring diversity and inclusion for your center and the startups you serve
  • How to work toward financial sustainability
  • Benefits and challenges of industry clusters, and best practices in establishing them
  • Differentiating your center in a crowded ecosystem
  • Innovative new community resources for entrepreneurial ecosystems
  • The power of storytelling and how to do it well

Day Two

Roundtable discussion sessions provide the opportunity to incorporate learnings through brief presentations and peer-to-peer sharing. Discussions will fall in four tracks:

  • Encouraging diversity and inclusion
  • Supporting second stage companies and gazelles
  • Building industry clusters
  • The fundamentals of ecosystem building

Training Academy

To gain even more skillsets, tools, and knowledge, stick around for the e.Builders Training Academy, to be held October 5-6 and featuring in-depth training courses selected to complement the e.Builders Forum, including:

  • Entrepreneurship Center Management (ECM) Courses
  • A two-day course focusing on advanced mentor development
  • Building Successful University Entrepreneurship Centers
  • An Ecosystem Development Workshop: Build Your Community Framework to Accelerate Regional Collaboration
  • Train-the-trainer bootcamps on the Business Model Canvas and Lean Startup methodologies

Location

Hosted by TReC Incubator, an innovation space funded by the Niagara Global Tourism Institute, in partnership with the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR), this two-day event will put a spotlight on a region of North America that is increasingly a hub of innovation, effective cross-border relationships and tourism. Niagara Falls is uniquely positioned right at the border of the United States and Canada and is also just thirty minutes from Buffalo, which was named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of eight cities whose entrepreneurial economies are booming in 2017.
